Automation And Integration

This may sound amazingly self-evident, but if something is automated, you, your employees, your customers, or anyone else doesn't need to do it. There are obvious variety of benefits in terms of anything from cost savings to a better night's sleep. We're all busy, so if you don't need to worry about something happening exactly the way it should happen and at the time it needs to happen, there's definitely other things you can do. For example relax and/or concentrate on something else that is important.

We are all human, and humans are not perfect. We all make mistakes from time to time. Whether it is forgetting to do something, spelling something incorrectly, pushing the wrong button, or all of the above, mistakes do happen. By introducing automation along with integration, we can reduce or even eliminate the mistakes that do not need to be made. This can be anything from simple copying of information from one place to the other, to submitting inventory orders, to highly complex banking transactions.

If an automated process can take data from one place and send it to another place, and do it on time without mistakes, then there people can concentrate on something else that truly requires a human touch and leave the mundane tasks to the computers. That's what they were made for (among other reasons).

People can't work as fast as computers can. People using a computer still can't work as fast as computers themselves can. Automated computer operations and transactions ensure that whatever needs to happen happens, on time, quickly, and efficiently.

You may have applications or tools that you have purchased earlier. They may still work for you, but not as well or as efficiently as they could be. Technology changes at an enormous speed, and some applications may become outdated because they can't do as much as newer versions. By introducing automation and integration, you may be able to extend lifespan of an application by making it work more efficiently, connect with other systems to retrieve data it may be missing or to provide data to enable a process.

Automating a process and/or integrating multiple applications together can help you reduce or eliminate some operational costs. Automating operations that typically are performed by people will significantly reduce the time it takes to perform such operations, as well as to free people up to concentrate on other activities.
